his role will directly oversee the sales departments at two select-service properties and one full-service property in the Tampa/Lakeland markets. The ideal candidate will be based and officed in Tampa/Lakeland.

Job Description: Strategically plan, execute and manage the overall sales and marketing of the assigned hotels to achieve optimal RevPAR and use, through effective Direct Sales and Revenue Management strategies that focus on maximizing revenue and meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives. This position is responsible for achieving the revenue goals set forth by the VP of Sales. This position currently manages the sales & marketing efforts at three to four limited service hotels in the Tampa Area. This is an active selling position. This position is based out of corporate office or within an office at the property, this is not a remote position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Sales:

  • Complete weekly sales calls to assigned Account Portfolio
  • Plan travel into assigned market on a weekly basis
  • Aggressively solicit New Business Travel & Group revenue to meet all goals as assigned
  • Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients and on property teams
  • Conduct onsite and digital presentations to potential clients
  • Implement strategic account management; develop multiple contacts, research/qualify various departments and divisions with the organization for full account qualification.
  • Execute strategic sales plans to positively affect revenues within assigned portfolio
  • Review/monitor brand reports and tools to assist in identifying potential businesses and activities within the market
  • Fully qualify all accounts utilizing current sales resources
  • Be aware of new business opportunities in and around your market; monitor through local newspapers, business journal, trade publications, internet resources, and Google alert, etc.
  • Networking with organizations that will assist with the development of future opportunities
  • Enhance your overall knowledge of the brands within your portfolio
  • In instances where the on-property sales positions are vacant the Regional Sales Manager is required to provide Sales Office Coverage

Sales & Communication:

  • Collaborate with Operation Partners to deliver revenue results: constant communication with VP of Sales, Revenue Manager, General Managers, and On-site Sales Coordinators
  • Partner with Marriott/Hilton/IHG Account Executives—refer leads and use as an extension of the Sales Team
  • Accurately communicate details on accounts to the operating departments as needed
  • Understand the hotel's operations, including room types, meeting capacities, services, features and benefits
  • Involvement with Front Line training, including FD staff and On-Site Coordinators
  • Communicate with Revenue Management to ensure that pricing is appropriate and adjust selling strategies as needed

Sales Administration:

  • Enter all sales activities in CRM system (Delphi.FDC). Commit to 100% adoption and update account information daily.
  • Compile and complete weekly/monthly/quarterly reports as assigned
  • Attend Sales Training as scheduled.
  • Attend Quarterly Ownership Meetings and present hotel performance
  • Observe and strategize according to prime selling time (Monday - Thursday, 9am-12noon & 1pm-4:30pm daily)
  • Monthly mileage and expense reports
  • Understand Sales Incentive Plan
  • Maintain brand compliance
  • Direct and Manage on property sales coordinators daily in order to grow SMERF and Function Revenues
  • Ensure on property sales coordinators are meeting CRM activity goals on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis

Corporate Support:

  • Participate, as requested, in the planning and implementation of Naples Hotel Group sales policies and programs
  • Participate in company-wide sales efforts, trade shows, corporate meetings, and any other event or activity deemed to be in line with the overall revenue goals
  • Allocate both dedicated and shared sales resources to achieve maximum revenue return on invested sales dollars by focusing efforts on those customers who are the most profitable
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by Naples Hotel Group Principals

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession. This includes knowledge required for management of people, complex problems and efficient sales activities. Make decisions within the standards of the position, which can impact more than one department.

Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently present, negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.

Standard Qualifications:

  • 3+ years within the multi-hotel sales discipline preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Capable of handling multiple hotels' sales and marketing
  • Travel required: weekly visits to properties (some overnight travel is required)
  • Hours Required: this is a salaried position, 45-50 hours per week is required
  • Available to meet guests outside the scope of regular business hours including nights in weekends
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Must be able to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate
  • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills
  • Team player and ability to get along with others
  • Must have the ability to communicate issues and concerns at all levels of the organization
